Identity design for a Scandinavian concept cafe
Metsä Café is a concept cafe inspired by my time spent in Finland. It is a personal brand project that was built upon the slow-paced, café and coffee culture of Scandinavia. The identity draws on traditional elements of Finnish design, but with a modern twist.
The identity is inspired by the colours, textures and found shapes from the forests of rural Finland. The word Metsä translates to ‘forest’ in English. The identity is inspired by found typography, which was then developed into a custom font for the logo mark.
The brand mark is drawn from a traditional Finnish tapestry that inspired this coffee bean-shaped emblem for the brand icon.
